Day 1: ¡Bienvenidos! Welcome to Oaxaca! Plan to arrive by 5pm (Central Time) and check in to our colorful hotel in Centro Oaxaca! Our welcome dinner is tonight so we’ll have our first taste of Oaxacan cuisine and explore the center of town!

Day 2: Today we’ll be touring the popular sights in the city including, Zócalo, Mercado 20, and Templo de Santo Domingo de Guzmán!

After our tour, we’ll have some free time to shop around and hang out at the hotel! Finally we’ll have dinner and enjoy a night out in Oaxaca!

Day 3: Today we’re going on an excursion to Hierve El Agua, the natural mineral springs, to relax and enjoy the amazing view. Then we’ll grab some lunch and start our Mezcal tour where we’ll get to taste some of the best tequila in Mexico!

Next we’ll head back to Centro and get our faces painted for the Día De Los Muertos celebration! Tonight we’ll get to see calaveras, ofrendas (altars), try authentic Oaxacan foods, and celebrate this rich Mexican holiday with local Oaxacans!

Day 4: The celebration isn’t over yet! Today we’ll watch the Muertos parades and take part in the festival! While we celebrate, we’ll have the option to visit even more of the popular areas in Oaxaca including Jardín Etnobotánico de Oaxaca, Monumento a Don Benito Juárez García, and the beautiful view at El Mirador!

Day 5: We made it to the last day! We’ll make our way to the airport with unforgettable memories and connections! The trip may be over but you’ll return rejuvenated and with a new HBCU family!
