What is En Root Travel?

En Root Travel is THE Black Travel Group focused on HBCU Alumni! On our trips, we explore countries within the African Diaspora with the perfect balance of true cultural experiences and traditional tourism.

Why do you focus on HBCUs?

We focus on HBCUs because our founders, having attended Howard University, understand the importance of the HBCU community. Upon graduating from an HBCU, the opportunities to be around your peers dwindle. We strive to provide a comfortable environment to travel in while acting on our commitment to Black people globally.

How do you choose your destinations?

We select our destinations based on the countries within the African Diaspora.

Am I able to go on a trip if I attended an HBCU but I’m not Black?

Am I able to go on a trip if I went to an HBCU for graduate or professional school?

Yes! We welcome all HBCU alumni!

If I didn’t go to an HBCU can I still attend a trip?

We focus on HBCU alumni but we welcome Black travelers on all our trips!

What is the age range for your trips?

En Root Travel is intergenerational, we accept HBCU alumni of all ages. Our minimum age is 21 years old.

Are your trips open to current HBCU students?

We host an annual Senior Class Trip for current HBCU seniors to celebrate graduation!

What kind of service opportunities do you provide?

Each trip is tailored to the needs of the community! Our founders are passionate about education and the arts so most of our service opportunities will incorporate both aspects!

What are the accommodations like?

We strive to stay at Black-owned hotels and Airbnbs! We always book accommodations with a minimum of 3-stars.

Do I have to share a room?

There are double and single occupancy rooms options on all our trips! Contact us to inquire about your specific trip!

How do I pay?

Monthly payment plans are available for each trip or you may pay in full!
