March 5th - 9th, 2025

We booked an entire boutique hotel for our HBCU Alumni group! The hotel is equipped with satellite TVs, WiFi, Air Conditioning, Security boxes, a swimming pool, and a 6 person house staff!

Day 1: Welcome to Colombia! Plan to arrive after 3pm and check in to our boutique hotel! After you get settled, enjoy the hotel and the private pool! For dinner we’ll have some authentic Colombian food and then explore Cartagena’s nightlife!

Day 2: Today we’ll get a chance to work with a service organization in a local Cartagena neighborhood! After our service project, we’ll immerse ourselves in the local culture and learn about the food, music, and people of Cartagena! Be sure to take your iconic photo with the Palenqueras in their colorful dresses!

Next we’re heading back to the hotel to rest and enjoy a local chef prepared dinner!

Day 3: Today we’re going to the Afro Colombian town of Palenque! Many traditional African practices are still alive and practiced in Palenque today! We’ll get a chance to tour local neighborhoods, meet the people that live in Palenque, support their businesses, and experience traditional music and dance!

Day 4: Mud bath anyone? Today we’re going to El Totumo Volcano to take a dip in the “Fountain of Youth”! This mud bath has medicinal components that leave your skin baby soft and is a must do when visiting Cartagena! Next we’ll rest at the hotel and get ready for our last night out in Cartagena!

Add On: Let’s go to the beach! For those looking to make the most of their time in Cartagena, select the beach club add on at check out! We’ll take a speed boat to Tierra Bomba island and relax by the pool and beach!

Day 5: We made it to the last day! We’ll make our way to the airport with unforgettable memories and connections! The trip may be over but you’ll return relaxed and rejuvenated with a new HBCU family!
