Activities
Gullah N Geechie Mahn Tours*
After lunch, we’re heading to St. Helena Island, SC to begin our first Gullah Geechee tour with 5th generation Gullah descendants. Some of the highlights include Penn Center, Brick Baptist Church, and Fripp Plantation!
Savannah Architecture Tour
Tour Savannah’s oldest and newest buildings with a 90 minute walking tour. Major style and period changes will be discussed with emphasis on Savannah’s history.
Sapelo Island Tour*
Our tour will be led by a direct descendant of the enslaved people brought to Sapelo in the early 1800s. We’ll take a ferry ride to the island, visit the Hog Hammock community, learn about the African traditions that have survived today on Sapelo, and have lunch on the beach!
Day Clean Journeys*
Participate in a Day Clean Journey to get a full view of the history of the Lowcountry of Georgia and South Carolina.
