Itinerary
Friday, July 5th
Day 1: Welcome to Brazil! Once you arrive you’ll check in to our 4 star hotel! Tonight will be our welcome dinner where we’ll get to try some authentic Brazilian food!
Saturday, July 6th
Day 2: Today we’ll see the treasures of Rio! We’ll start at the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue, then head to Sugar Loaf Mountain, and end with the Escadaria Selarón steps!
Next we’re heading back to the hotel to rest and go to dinner!
Sunday, July 7th
Day 3: Today we’re going to Little Africa to learn about the history and culture of Afro Brazilians and how Brazil became the country with the largest population of Africans outside Africa! Next, we’ll explore behind the scenes of Carnival, Brazil’s largest festival/celebration!
Monday, July 8th
Day 4: Grab your bags! Today we’re taking a flight to Salvador de Bahia, the Blackest part of Brazil! Once we land we’ll have time to rest and free time to explore Bahia!
Tuesday, July 9th
Day 5: Today we’ll experience Afro Brazil on our Black immersion tour! We’ll learn about the history, culture, music, and food of Afro Brazil. We’ll also get a chance to experience Capoeira, an Afro Brazilian fight and dance!
Wednesday, July 10th
Day 6: We’ll start today at the Afro market where you’ll get a chance to enjoy crafts, clothes, food and more! After the market, we’ll take part in our service project in a Favela in Bahia. Tonight we’ll catch our flight back to Rio!
Thursday, July 11th
Day 7: Today is our last full day in Brazil and what better way to spend it than on the water! After some free time, we’ll enjoy our yacht party! Once we get back we’ll get ready for our last night out in Brazil!
Friday, July 12th
Day 8: We made it to the last day! We’ll make our way to the airport with unforgettable memories and connections! The trip may be over but you’ll return with a new HBCU family!
